NPP will bing Bawumia back for 2028 elections if only we get to know why he lost very heavily in 2024 - Kabiru
Member of Parliament for Walewale, Hon. Abdul Kabiru Tiah Mahama, has hinted that Vice President Dr. Mahamudu Bawumia’s decision to contest again in 2028 will depend on a thorough, data-driven assessment of the NPP’s electoral defeat.
“The vice president doesn’t want to go with the euphoria or the noise. He wants to take his time, driven by facts, science, and data, to understand what happened.
"The party can then sit and make informed decisions from there,” he said on Metro TV’s Good Morning Ghana.
Hon. Mahama emphasized that Dr. Bawumia will only consider another shot at leadership if the full assessment supports his candidacy.
“Several theories will come into play as to why the NPP lost the elections. Some people will say it was the arrogance of power, some will say it was government policies, and others will blame the nature and approach of the campaign,” he added.
For now, Dr. Bawumia is analyzing the situation before making any political moves.
