Hiplife pioneer Reggie Rockstone sparked a thought-provoking debate on the origins of monogamy.

In a recent interview with Class TV, he said practice isn't rooted in African culture but was imposed through Western and Christian influences.

"I know it's not African; I could tell you that for sure," he said. "We've been so Christianised and Westernised now. I really believe it doesn’t move with our culture. I mean, it was imposed on us."

However, the music icon clarified that his commitment to being a one-woman man stems from personal preference.

"The reason why I'm a one-woman man is my personality. You know, it’s too much headache for me. I like my peace of mind," he added with a smile.
