Veteran Nollywood actor Kanayo O. Kanayo has generated an intriguing conversation about the state of the film industry.
During an appearance on the Honest Brunch podcast, he expressed frustration with aspiring actresses, who he says prioritize their looks over developing acting skills.
“Many of these young actresses can’t even read their lines properly,” he said.
“They focus on flaunting their curves, relying on cosmetic enhancements and artificial accents, thinking that’s enough to succeed.
Acting is about delivering authentic performances, not just looking good on screen.”
Kanayo urged aspiring actors to focus on their craft, emphasizing that the audience values talent and authenticity over appearance.
